Alfred Sheppard

Location: In Home Lessons Only By Appointment

Alfred Sheppard has been playing piano since the age of 4. He grew up playing in his family church choirs. He currently plays for the youth choir and the young adult choir at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.
Alfred is a graduate of Howard W. Blake High School of the Arts. He studied with jazz band director, Robert Griffin and piano instructor, Jan Khorsandian. Regular performances with the school's jazz band, jazz combo,
and providing accompanyment for annual school plays and musicals, gave Alfred a lot of well-rounded experience at a young age.

Alfred formed the band “N-Version” at twelve years old.
N-Vision performed at a number of venues including The Florida State Fair, The Strawberry Festival, Brandon Chamber of Commerce, MOSI, as well other banquets, festivals and parties. Alfred has also performed with esteemed local artists such as Jose Valintino Ruiz, Eric Darius. Jack Wilkins
and Dwayne White.

Also an established composer, Alfred won national recognition by winning the NAACP ACTSO composition competition 2 years in a row; one for his symphony, "Nightmare of a Veteran" and another for his jazz big band piece "Spinning Rainbow". He has arranged for numerous record albums including his own.
Alfred is very fluent in music notation programs, such as Finale, and is known for creating arrangements specifically for his students based on their interests and skill level.

Alfred Sheppard is currently finishing his music studies major at USF.
He loves recording and producing music in his personal studio.

We are sure that if you seek an instructor who is passionate about music and sharing his knowledge, Alfred is one of the best choices you will make.
