Violin and Viola
Violinist, pianist, composer, and teacher Hollis Elisabeth has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the United States and abroad. Her compositions, which she performs regularly in the Baltimore/DC area, are a unique fusion of world, rock, pop, and classical. She performs on both acoustic and electric violin, and plays in all types of venues ranging from concert halls to clubs.
Hollis received her M.M. in Violin Performance/Pedagogy from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University as a student of Herbert Greenberg. She studied at Converse College for her B.M. where she graduated summa cum laude with honors in Violin Performance. While there, she was named the school's Presser Scholar. Awards and honors include the Melissa Tiller Memorial Prize in String Performance and the Pi Kappa Lambda Award.
Hollis studied pedagogy with Rebecca Henry at the Peabody Institute's Preparatory Division, and is registered as an instructor of the Suzuki method and the Mark O'Connor method. Hollis teaches all ages and levels.
